Michele Di Falco is a multi-arts Artist / Vocalist.  She has had over 20 years of creating and exhibiting her artworks including; Paintings, Prints, Drawings, Collage, Sculpture, Box Art, and Mixed Medium works.

For over fifteen years she held the position of owner / manager and curator / artistic director of both Caffe Di Falco and Di Falco Gallery - Studio.

Art exhibitions there normally included vocal performances by Ms. Di Falco in the musical styles including Jazz, Blues, RnB, RnR, Country, etc. with select guest musicians. Often these multi - arts events included poetry readings with select guest Chicago and international poets. Michele was featured in newspaper articles in The Chicago Tribune, The Chicago Suntimes, Crains Business Chicago, The Free Press, and The Var Martin - journal for the South of France.

Michele comes from a background of Art and Music. Her father was a painter, who got a scholarship to the Art Institute of Chicago. Her cousin was a professional artist who graduated fro The Art Institute of Chicago and took her there when she was young. She grew up listening to her mother singing and watching her father sketch and paint. she still loves the stories about her cousin's Italian Restaurant in Chicago's little Italy, frequented by famous performers such as Tommy Dorsey, Frank Sinatra, Louis Prima and others.

Michele Di Falco was one of the artists who helped pioneer the early movement in Chicago's Bucktown neighborhood for recognition of artists in an artists neighborhood (Bucktown/Wicker Park has the largest concentration of artists...in Chicago...and the third largest artistic mass in the country from Crains 4/17/89).

In 1985 Michele Di Falco opened her own performing arts restaurant. From 1985 - 1990 she was the owner / manager and curator / artistic director of Caffe Di Falco. Here many artists met, showed their work, performed music, read poetry and held interesting inter-disciplinary arts performances. Her storefront studio was redesigned as a restaurant / performance art space, in which she as well as others performed and presented their art in the first neighborhood open studio - gallery art walk.

From 1990 - 2004 It became once again her studio / gallery; Di Falco Studio Gallery. Michele continued to be involved in neighborhood artists groups and host seasonal and first Friday art openings which included vocal performances with her and guest musicians. Di Falco continued to be the curator and artistic director of the Gallery, Studio Di Falco.

She was a part of a group of twenty galleries on the west side (or the Bucktown-Wicker Park area) called the West Side Gallery district. They held regularly scheduled, open house gallery tours, as well being open every 1st Friday of the month. They have received some good press in the Chicago Tribune and Art News Magazine.

"Around the Coyote", "City Art of Chicago", "D-Tours" and "Open studio" were Summer, Fall and First Friday of the month exhibitions. Di Falco also sang at these openings in the styles of Jazz, Blues, RnB, RnR and Country .. etc ...music

Summer 1995 she was a part of a group art exhibition in Provence; Le Cercle des arts, La Palette de l été, Cotignac, France. There she showed six pieces done in Di Falco studio / gallery Cotignac, France; Di Falco Atelier d'Art e Musique.

She now resides in the South of France in the village of Cotignac, one hour from the French Riviera, two hours from the Italian Riviera. She is in the process of creating Di Falco Atelier d'Art et Musique in the beautiful French countryside. She will present art exhibits of her works and she also hopes to continue to perform, similar to what she did in Chicago.
